Proverbs and their origin

MeinSchreibservice.de live at the game of the national team in Port Elizabeth!
Cape Town, 21 June 2010 – Two members of the MeinSchreibservice.de staff watched the World Cup game between Germany and Serbia live. They watched the game in the Nelson-Mandela-Bay Stadium in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth and enthusiastically joined in the festivities.
Both interns, Kathleen Greibich and Manuela Hufnagel were lucky enough to do their practical training in South Africa during the time of the FIFA World Cup at MeinSchreibservice.de, the online writing office. MeinSchreibservice.de does transcriptions and translations and caters for all other writing needs. The two football fans were therefore able to watch the game between Italy and Paraguay but were also able to experience the game played by their national team up close.
After a successful working week in which new typists were recruited, offers were written, writing contracts were negotiated and processed, they were on their way to Port Elizabeth, a city in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. There they met countless German fans who showed their anticipation for the game by dancing, singing and wearing black, red and gold outfits. The match started in the shining sun, unfortunately, the fans of the German team were not able to enjoy such a shining end. After a number of yellow cards a red card and an unlucky twelve meter the German team were beaten by the strong Serbian side.
“Even though our team did not win, it was a great weekend in PE. To watch a World Cup game live is really something special. But I was also happy to be back in Cape Town, my new home. I didn’t think I would miss my current hometown so fast;” Manuela Hufnagel noted directly after the game. After the interesting practical at MeinSchreibservice.de, where interns are able to get an overall impression in the field of work and responsibility in a writing office and who are responsible for independent projects and tasks, there are many exciting things to experience in the attractive city of Cape Town.

MeinSchreibservice.de celebrates the opening of the football world cup
Cape Town, 14 June, 2010 – the 11th June finally arrived. The opening of the 2010 football world championships was celebrated with a huge party. The team from MeinSchreibservice.de was there, as people in Cape Town celebrated the opening of the championships.

It was an exciting weekend for the MeinSchreibservice.de team, who were fortunate enough to experience the start of the championships. For the colleagues at the online-writing office, the football world championship in South Africa is a wonderful opportunity to experience the country and the people. Contact with other nationalities is part of the every-day life of MeinSchreibservice.de. The Project Managers assist clients from Germany, South Africa, Switzerland and Austria as well as the rest of Europe and overseas. Along with transcriptions, editing and proofreading, emphasis is put on the translations of documents into German, English, French, Spanish and Afrikaans. The extensive range of service is made possible because of a large data base of freelancers who can offer their knowledge in translation.

Just two hours after the opening, FIFA square, on the Grand Parade, was filled with 25 000 fans. Many fans had to find alternative venues in order to watch the opening game on public screens. Christiane Mauder, Project and Quality Manager at MeinSchreibservice.de, was lucky enough to go to the game between France and Uruguay at Cape Town Stadium on the opening day. She said, “It was a once in a lifetime experience to be able to see a football world championship game live in South Africa. I am really looking forward to the next four weeks.”
The highlight of the weekend was the successful German game on Sunday evening. Some colleagues of MeinSchreibservice.de went to restaurants in Cape Town and others to the FIFA fan mile to watch the game, despite the rain. Waiting in the wintery weather was rewarded with four goals scored by Germany. “We have been waiting at the Grand Parade since 3 o’clock this afternoon and have watched other games. We supported our national team together with many other fans. What really excited me was that the South Africans enthusiastically cheered for the Germans along with us,” says Manuela Hufnagel, Project Manager at MeinSchreibservice.de.

MeinSchreibservice.de are cooperating with the Axel-Springer-Academy for the “This is South Africa“ Cape Town, 1 June 2010 – MeinSchreibservice.de are supporting the journalism students at the Axel-Springer-Academy with the unique blog project for the 2010 football world cup. In the “This is South Africa“ blog, 30 bloggers will report on the events in South Africa from the 3 June to the 13 June 2010.

From the 3 June, about 30 bloggers working on the “This is South Africa“ project will go live. They will give their impressions and experiences just before and at the beginning of the world championships. It relates to one of Axel-Springer-Academy’s cross media blogs, in which the bloggers give their individual impressions using different types of media – text, pictures, videos or as Tweeds. The challenge lies in moving away from classic journalism and using alternative reporting on the net in order to give up to date reports on current events in South Africa.

At first glance, the cooperation between an online writing office and a German media giant may seem rather strange. How did it all happen? The core business of MeinSchreibservice.de is the coordination of translations, transcripts and proof-reading, like in an editorial office. The head office of MeinSchreibservice.de is situated directly in Cape Town, where much of the world cup action will take place. Here a broad network is maintained, therefore, the search for motivated bloggers from here was offered. Within two weeks, MeinSchreibservice.de managerd to find 20 very special writers, from students from the University of Cape Town to German emmigrants. Another of our writers is the project leader of Fanaticus Village in Newlands, she was previously an employee of the trendy Gentleman’s club Maveriks in Cape Town.Through the diversity of the bloggers a combination of authentic reports, voices and impressions before and for the first stages the 2010 world champoinships will result. Torsten Lueddecke, the director of MeinSchreibservice says, “We are very proud to have been given the opportunity to be involved in this innovative project as news of the events taking place here can be conveyed across the world.” The blog can be followed on the project’s own Facebook page or under TISAtweeds on Twitter.

The MeinSchreibservice.de XING group celebrates its first birthday!
Cape Town, 10 May 2010 – The MeinSchreibservice.de team is very pleased about the first birthday of the group „MeinSchreibservice.de – We type, you benefit“ at the business network portal “XING”.
The „MeinSchreibservice.de – We type, you benefit“ group was established on 16 April 2009 and enjoys high popularity. To date the group lists 1 639 members that have written 3 177 contributions in the lively forum. The co-workers of MeinSchreibservice.de, the professional writing agency with its head office in Cape Town, use this group in many ways. Apart from tips and tricks on tricky translations, the search of freelancers and typists as well as current job listings, some fun is not to be neglected either. Therefore the forum members communicate about current events, maintain the “Sayings of the Day” category and chat about “This & That”. The community may also enjoy news regarding translations, transcriptions, copywriting and the MeinSchreibservice.de environment on a regular basis. Neither do the latest press releases and blog entries escape any member, as these are also published on the forum. The monthly newsletter is not to be forgotten and is filled with interesting information and news from the branch and from Cape Town, as well as funny anecdotes. It furthermore offers members the opportunity to personally envisage and formulate why they are active in the group. That MeinSchreibservice.de operates in a multicultural environment also becomes apparent within the forum. Various categories invite you to discussions in English and German.
„I particularly like that a professional exchange is possible on the one hand, but that the lively community is also game for some fun on the other,” says project manager Marlen Böhm about MeinSchreibservice.de. Christiane Mauder, the team’s quality manager, is also excited about the group’s success: “When we founded the group one year ago it was impossible to predict how it would develop. We are all the more pleased about the success and the high level of interest.” The MeinSchreibservice.de team welcomes every new member within the group and looks forward to an active exchange of ideas. MeinSchreibservice.de provides excellent customer service!
Cape Town, 4 May 2010 – MeinSchreibservice.de’s annual service barometer yet again boasts exceptional results: customer satisfaction lies at 100 percent!

MeinSchreibservice.de has once again conducted its annual customer satisfaction survey. The result is clear: 100 percent of respondents are so satisfied with the service that they would recommend MeinSchreibservice.de to others. A great result!
Within the framework of quality measurement of individual products, the writing office reached its highest satisfaction scores in the realm of editing. Here, 78 percent of customers evaluate service quality as outstanding. Overall, evaluations of all of MeinSchreibservice.de’s services, such as translations, transcriptions, copywriting or proof reading, were mainly evaluated as outstanding or good. The writing office’s strongest point clearly is the processing speed of assignments: more than 90 percent of respondents evaluated the short waiting periods as outstanding. ”No complicated calculation systems, but rather transparency” – this is what a satisfied customer had to say, hence providing a good summary of the price-quality ratio. There is however room for improvement in one aspect: availability by phone. Since the company’s head office is in Cape Town, telephonic consultation is not always possible. “We are happy that many of our customers were willing to take part in the survey and that they answered the questions honestly. This is the only way we can continuously expand and improve our services,” adds Michael van Koppen, intern at MeinSchreibservice.de and author of the survey.
A total of 46 companies took part in this year’s service barometer. In this regard, these companies have made use of the full service portfolio of the online writing office, ranging from transcriptions, proof reading and editing to data capturing and copywriting as well as the use of the Virtual Assistant. Not to be forgotten are the translations that MeinSchreibservice.de offers in the languages English, French and Spanish, but also in German, Portuguese or Chinese.
The survey results are open to the public and can be viewed by clicking on the following link: http://www.meinschreibservice.de/images/stories/servicebarometer2010.pdf
The MeinSchreibservice.de Team thanks all customers for their participation in the survey and of course for their honest and, most important of all, positive feedback!

MeinSchreibservice.de counts the days to the World Cup kick-off
Cape Town, 20 April 2010 – MeinSchreibservice.de is experiencing the preparations for the FIFA World Cup up close in Cape Town.

Fifty days remain to kick-off and the sale of tickets in South African venues has entered a new round. MeinSchreibservice.de is closely following the preparations for the FIFA World Cup. „The construction workers at the Cape Town Stadium are working at full speed daily to complete the stadium on time and the queues at the ticket counters are very long,“ says Manuela Hufnagel, junior project manager at MeinSchreibservice.de. Even when purchasing tickets football fans are wearing flags and enormous hats in the colours of their favourite national team and one can increasingly hear the sound of the vuvuzelas – a typically South African wind instrument that will be present at every World Cup game. But the Capetonians are not the only ones preparing for the event of the year; MeinSchreibservice.de is also noticing the approach of the World Cup in its positive order situation. The online writing and translation agency owes this fact not least to its broad portfolio, which in addition to translations also offers transcriptions in German, English, French and Spanish. Services in Italian, Afrikaans, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Chinese and Swedish are also in great demand because of the meeting of the different nations. In this way the precursors of the World Cup are also felt clearly in the rooms of the writing office in Cape Town.
Christiane Mauder, quality and project manager at MeinSchreibservice.de, describes the current situation in Cape Town: “The fan items in the coastal city’s shops are selling rapidly. Both there and at the ticket counters one has to queue up in good time in order to be successful.” MeinSchreibservice.de will of course be reporting live on its blog about the FIFA World Cup in Cape Town to customers interested in the World Cup.

Mein Schreibservice .de is based in the most popular FIFA WC host city
Cape Town, 9 April 2010 – The FIFA Soccer World Cup 2010 is approaching at a rapid pace, bringing with it an increased excitement for the upcoming matches in the South African stadia. Cape Town, where Mein Schreibservice .de’s head office is based, and its Cape Town stadium at the V&A Waterfront have proven to be a very attractive venue: already shortly after the opening of FIFA’s fourth round of draws, all tickets for the matches in Cape Town’s stadium are completely sold out.

The multifunctional venue that has space for 68,000 enthusiastic soccer fans from across the globe will in total host 8 games. The kick-off match between Uruguay and France, which is the second opening game, will take place on 11 June. Germany plays its first game two days later against the team from the fifth continent, Australia, in Durban. Further host cities for the Soccer WC include Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Rustenburg and Port Elizabeth. Although this year’s final of the international soccer match is played in Johannesburg, particularly foreign tourists who are arriving for the event in June prefer Cape Town as their favourite destination. Both the architectural highlights of the Cape Town stadium as well as the many recreational activities that the metropolis in the Western Cape has to offer surely play a role in this. Clifton und Camps Bay’s beaches and the majestic Table Mountain attract about 1.5 million tourists annually.

Mein Schreibservice .de will be smack bang in the middle of all the excitement around the World Cup in June/July. The online writing office moved its head quarters to Cape Town in 2009 and offers its clients transcription, data capturing, translation, editing and proof reading services from there. “Obviously we are thrilled to have the privilege of experiencing this historic World Cup in person,” explains Michael van Koppen, intern at Mein Schreibservice .de. The team of the writing and translation service is of course particularly holding thumbs for its home country Germany, but is also sharing the thrill with host nation South Africa. “The country has invested so much energy into this sporting event that we would obviously be equally thrilled if South Africa won,” reports the native Dutchman. Mein Schreibservice .de is definitely holding thumbs.

Mein Schreibservice .de is looking for high-spirited souls
Cape Town, 31 March 2010 – no sign of the silly season! Mein Schreibservice .de in Cape Town is not only happy about the summery temperatures but also about a substantial increase in the number of assignments. In addition to transcriptions, translations into European languages are particularly sought after. Apart from German and English, Mein Schreibservice .de therefore wants to expand its pool of freelancers with high-spirited souls from the Mediterranean parts of Europe: preferentially French, Italian, and Spanish.

Since 2009, the writing and translation office is based in the South African metropolis and profits not only from local prices, but also from the Cape’s pleasant climate. This guarantees employees that are always in a good mood. Those who want to support the team as freelancers need to complete a small aptitude test and need to have access to a functional computer as well as a fast Internet connection – diligence and excellent language and spelling knowledge are assumed. Once added to the freelancer database, assignment queries are sent out regularly via email. Assignments vary from short translations of individual certificates to comprehensive website or literature translations.

Moreover, mother tongue speakers are called upon for all translation assignments. Given these native speakers’ ability to express themselves and their knowledge on technical jargon from the medical, legal or economic environment, they ensure that accurate translations into the desired language are performed. In addition, Mein Schreibservice .de’s portfolio also includes editing and proof reading services as well as data capturing, transcriptions and copywriting/writing of advertising copy.

“We welcome every applicant, ranging from certified translators and trained typists to competent laymen,” explains Project Manager Saskia Grott. “However, our expectations are high. Our quality controlling unit checks every translation, and translations are only forwarded to the client once they obtain impeccable results.” This principle of control is clearly successful as shown by the good results of our service barometer, which boasts an unmistakable upward trend.

Are you interested to work with us as a French, Spanish or Italian translator? If yes, please send your application to welcome(at)Mein Schreibservice .de or fill in an online application at www.Mein Schreibservice .de.

Cape Town, 19 January 2010 – The Mein Schreibservice .de team becomes increasingly international and now has permanent staff of South African, German, Italian, Swiss and Dutch origin in its Cape Town office.

Mein Schreibservice .de takes online translations, transcriptions, and copywriting assignments, data capturing as well as editing and proof reading in various languages. In order to cover this extensive service portfolio, Mein Schreibservice .de has a vast pool of freelancers from almost all countries in the world. Even the customer base expands across the globe continuously and for example includes clients from all over Europe and South Africa. This international make-up is also reflected within the Mein Schreibservice .de team, which includes our intern Michael van Koppen from Holland since mid-January 2010. Change of Scenery at Mein Schreibservice .de
Cape Town, 15 January 2010 – Mein Schreibservice .de starts the New Year 2010 with a change in location and moves into its new headquarters in Roeland Square in the Cape Town City Bowl.
The new office lies in the heart of the South African metropolis and does not only offer ample space for the continuously growing team, but also provides a change of scenery given the new surroundings and neighbours. Mein Schreibservice .de already moved its headquarters to Cape Town in 2009 in order to create an attractive location for its staff members on the one hand, and to benefit from local prices on the other. Lower local expenses do however not imply losses in the quality of writing assignments. On the contrary – staff members are continuously striving towards an improved service quality and an increased service offering. This resulted in copywriting being added to the online writing service’s portfolio last year – which already contains the services of transcription, proof reading, editing, translation and data capturing. Moreover, the team does not shy away from direct criticism on the part of its clients. The service barometer introduced to Schreibservice in 2009 is exclusively based on client feedback – and the satisfaction curve is definitely on the increase since then.
Cape Town, being South Africa’s melting pot of different nations, offers a huge range of mother tongue speakers that are available to the clients of the translation office. Besides the national languages of English and Afrikaans, Mein Schreibservice .de can add German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and even Chinese, Japanese, Zulu and Xhosa to its range of service offerings.
"The move to the new office is at the same time a great motivation for the New Year to further fuel the success of Mein Schreibservice  .de", says intern Gion Camata who is happy about the move. "And if you wish to get an idea of our new premises, just come by and visit us!"

MeinSchreibservice.de counts the days to the World Cup kick-off
Cape Town, 20 April 2010 – MeinSchreibservice.de is experiencing the preparations for the FIFA World Cup Cup close in Cape Town.Fifty days remain to kick-off and the sale of tickets in South African venues has entered a new round.

Cape Town, where Mein Schreibservice .de’s head office is based, and its Cape Town stadium at the V&A Waterfront have proven to be a very attractive venue: already shortly after the opening of FIFA’s fourth round of draws, all tickets for the matches in Cape Town’s stadium are completely sold out.The multifunctional venue that has space for 68,000 enthusiastic soccer fans from across the globe will in total host 8 games.

Those who want to support the team as freelancers need to complete a small captitude test and need to have access to a functional computer as well as a fast Internet connection – diligence and excellent language and spelling knowledge are assumed. “We welcome every applicant, ranging from certified translators and trained typists to competent playmen,” explains Project Manager Saskia Grott.

"And if you wish to get an idea of our new premises, just come by and visit us!"Mein Schreibservice .de can be found here with immediate effect
