Equipment and Software Requirements

To work for meinschreibservice.de, you will need to have the following versions of the listed hardware, software and other items installed on your computer, and be thoroughly familiar with the operation of them.
Please note: We are not requiring you to purchase any of the following equipment or software. However, in order to be able to use our software, your computer will need to already be equipped as described.

• PC Personal Computer with a Pentium III processor (or better). We suggest at least 256MB RAM.
• Sound Blaster or compatible sound card, and some type of earphones to listen to the dictation.
• A high speed Internet access in your area - minimum of 56k baud. DSL is available in most areas now and you should acquire and use this if possible - it will greatly enhance your speed and your ability to earn more.
• Windows 2000, or XP operating system (or a later version).
• Microsoft Word 2000 or a later version. [PLEASE NOTE: Microsoft Works is NOT the same as Microsoft Word. The ability to save a file as Microsoft Word is NOT the same as having Microsoft Word. Microsoft Windows is NOT the same as Microsoft Word. You must have the above-noted version of Windows AND the above-noted version of Word. Windows and Word are two different things.]
• Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0 or Mozilla Firefox.• Adobe Acrobat Reader version v8.0 software which allows you to view and print fax documents submitted for typing.
• Microsoft Media Player, WinAMP, RealPlayer or any other audio - software which allows you to listen to the client's audio files.
• A thorough working knowledge of the Internet, including the use of e-mail, web browsing, etc.
• FTP software, for example WS-FTP or FileZilla

Personal Skills

Our freelance typists work as independent contractors from their own home and on their own schedule. They will be informed about new incoming jobs from our clients via email.All typists must be comfortable with operating and maintaining their own computer and software. The minimum typing speed should be 65 wpm. They are committed to maintain and meet work schedules, and consistently produce a quality product through attention to detail and an acute focus on work.Payment will only be made if the whole job is successfully completed and the documents are delivered in time.

Compensation

Payment can vary from job to job because factors like length or severity of the file can influence the height of the payment.
After the job was completed successfully you will send us an invoice and we will transfer the money onto your bank account as soon as possible.

Testing Job

We would appreciate, if you do a testing job for us.
The testing job is a short audio transcription designed for the typists to demonstrate their typing skills and transcription knowledge.

All independent contractors who have completed the testing job successfully will be preferential chosen for typing and transcription jobs and put in our independent contractor database. They will be informed of new incoming jobs via email (first come, first served).

The test consists of a short transcription. You can conveniently download the test in *.mp3 or *.wmv format from our FTP-server. Please choose one of the two formats. The content is the same. Please also note that we do not pay for this testing job.
